Hi,

A strange thing happens on an ML350 server.
A disk on the RAID5 subsystem (witch contains 3 SCSI disks)
fails every coupple of days. When removing and plugging the
failing disk back. I can rebuild (the disk seems as new).
But some days later this same disk fails again. I have
rebuild this disk 4 times now. And wonder if it's the
disk or it is the controller or somthing else here.

How can make sure that the disk is bad and not some
or connector. Before I order a new one.

Or does someone recognize this phenomenon?

Thanks in advance

only if seen a this once and it was on a 3000

on this one even if we put a new disk in - it would fail after a few days but the disk would be fine if pull in and out or if swapped to another server - and it was always the same slot that failed

the solution from compaq was that we replace the drive cage and then replace that disk - it it was fine after that
(the solution was suggested by compaq engineer)
