Hi,
I think some filesets from ML6 might have been install on an ML5 system (AIX 5.1). Is there a way of listing which files are higher than ML5?
instfix doesn't seem to be able to do this.

Cheers

have you tried lslpp -l and see which filesets are at the ML6 level?

hello,

don't have a 5.1 system (just 5.2) under the hand, but the following should work :

oslevel -rl 5100-06

to list all filesets which have a ML below the one given on the command line, ie ML6 in this example.

regards

compare_report is also a useful utility. The full details can be found on the IBM web site but in brief it reports on what file sets are missing from MLs and latest available.

Thanks but the issue is that I need to know which maybe 5 filesets makes the system believe it's on ML6 when it's supposed to be on ML5.

lslpp -l doesn't show the ML level.
oslevel -rl show the same as instfix -ciqk which shows downlevel filesets where I want to see uplevel filesets.

Thanks

Cheers

oups, misreading :)

oslevel -rg 5100-05

will give you the filesets above ML5.
regards,
