mksysb to dvd fails with no IBM dvd media

Hi,

I am trying make a system backup (mksysb) to dvd-ram, but the command fails with an I/O error, when writing to the dvd-ram. The command works fine, when I use IBM media (DVD_RAM) but when I use other brands, the command fails. I've tried this on different servers using brand new media (non IBM) with the same problem.

I appreciate any help.

unfortunately IBM does not support the use of 3rd-party media in their RS/6000. sad but true, you are on your own.
