Hi everyone,

I try to restore an mksysb. It failed into smitty and I decided to start from the 1st installation CD of Aix 4.3.3.
I changed the boot order into system management but each time I reboot the machine (43P140), I have the message "default catch!" with an error de9dbeef.
An idea anybody ?

Thanks

dabel,

I have has this before on my own 140, it is a firmare corruption. You need to take the NVRAM battery off the system planar board for about 5 mins and replace it. The procedure is covered in the 140 user manual. You cannot miss the battery and it is fairly easy to get it out.

If you are not happy to do it, get in your hardware support people.
