I got an mksysb cd and from pSeries p660 6M1.
Now in 44p model 270, when I boot from cd0 which has that mksysb, the system hang and lcd shows 0c31 x hours.
Please let me know if anything wrong. My cdrom is OK.
From what I know c31 is a Led code that indicates that the CD-ROm is not bootable, you my try to recreate the CD from the 6-M1 and retry, If there are too many hardeware differences between the 6m1 and the 270, It may not boot. But more than often it is the CD, Try to mount the cd on a seperate (test ) servewr and see iif you could fread the files on it.
0c31 is a Terminal Problem.
Did you use a Ascii Terminal ?
When you use an Ascii Terminal check the Cable and the Setting on it.
You can check if all is ok by booting from an AIX CD.
If the Screen will come up, the Settings are ok.
