mksysb of SP nodes 1

Hi,

I have the images( mksyb) of my two nodes on the control work station. I want to test and see if this mksysb is ok and that it is bootable. how can i do that. when i do a splstdata -b the next_install_image does not point to the current images. how can i change this.
please help.

be careful here...the mksysb that you did is bootable through nim
THE FOLLOWING does not test the backup you made...but restores it..

usually on the cws you issue the splstdata -b to verify the name of the
image that will be used to install the node.
You can do the spbootins -r install -i bos.obj.image# -l node#
whatever the mksysb was called....
or to ensure that the CWS is configured properly, issue the setup_server command:
smitty node_data, boot/install/usr server info. For the node in
question, change the install image name to bos.obj.nodename (or whatever
you called it...and
run setup_server...

Once the command returns with no errors, select the node from the Global commands...select
netboot and do.

From the aixterm window on the CWS issue the s1term -w 1 1 ...
Once it is restored it issues a pssp_script command to pull the latest copy
of the SDR from the CWS. TThe node should reset itself to
boot from disk......

THIS does not test the backup you made...but restores it..

I believe you could check that the info was there from the errorlog from the mksysb that you did....and also since it is the backup command you can probably view what s
on the tape...but it is not a bootable tape....just used as the image for nim?
