Good day All,
I am setting up Samba for a Red Hat Linux 7.3 machine, in which it will be set up with USER restrictions but not a PDC.... the clients connecting to it will be Win98se machines so encryption is turned on.
I want to be able to use the users already set up on the linux machine so I used mksmbpasswd.sh and made the smbpasswd file, but instead of filling the file with hash passwords I get XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX in all the spots.
Basically I just want the one point of administration and I want to import all my system users and their passwords into Samba.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Martin If the sky is blue and the Sun is yellow.... Why isn't the air Green?
