mkdev sticks for 10 minutes 1

AIX 5.2 ML 01.

Sometimes ater running "mkdev -l inet0" ,it sits for severall minutes prior to completion.
It's different from AIX 4.3.3 behavior.
Any ideas on the issue ?

hi ,
have yout tried to put the latest maintenance , i think ML 5 is out or is coming out but definitely you can load ML 4
for AIX 5.2
