mkcd problem

Attempting to burn 1st cd on AIX 4.3.3.11 using command: "mkcd -d /dev/cd1" , keep getting error at Running mkisofs ... "mkisofs: option `-a' is ambiguous". Same error occurs when running from smit. What am I doing wrong, what do I need?

I am not sure what you are trying to make a copy of. This will create a mksysb image on your cd:
/usr/sbin/mkcd -U -d '/dev/cd0' -P -V rootvg
