Mixer Audio Level

How can I find the audio level of, for example MasterVolume or Wave in WindowsAudioMixer?

I need this to express the intensity of the sound, in a visual way.

You could use DirectX, as it allows you to control all aspects of sound. Here is a link that will help you get started:

That's not exactly what i wanted . I don't want to change the volume, I want to read somehow the power of the sound at the output of an audioline. Some audio programs(like SoundForge)can do that when recording. Something similar is used when calibrating the microphone, in Windows. I need to do the same thing, but with the MasterVolume, in an VB program.
