I have a peer to peer network with a mixture of ME & XP machines. Recently moved office and changed to DSL, added switch & router. What seems to happen is when the XP machines are put on line they flood the network to the point of excluding anyones access to the internet. Connection status on the XP machines show thousands of packets sent with no user activity.

Anyone with an idea. I am sure it is something easy that has been missed.

It sounds exactly like the behavior of either the Nachia or the Welchia worm.
