Good morning all.

We have a Mitel 3300 with a 4 digit dial plan. We are outgrowing this and need to implement a 5 digit plan.

Question is how can I create 5 digit extensions and still allow people to call existing 4 digit extensions during the transition.

Pretty much all leading digits 1-8 will be in conflict with something. For example extn 7001 exists today so I can't add extn 70010.

I want to run a mixed dial plan for a time. It is not practical to re-number all extensions overnight. Will cause mass panic, riots, anarchy in the streets.

you can have 7001 and 70010 at the same time, both can be dialed

7001# with ring 7001 immediately, 7001+ wait will also ring 7001. Wait timer is 3sec?

Your bigger issue is going to voicemail unless you are using Nupoint or equivalent.
