I'm unable to upgrade the system software from 3.1 to 5.0
I download the zip file containing the latest software and save it to my desktop. I use the search tool to locate the systems IP address then click configure and am taken to the systems webgui. For the saleschannel, I select other. I then click browse and find the software zip folder load it and then upgrade the software. Several moments into the process I get an error message stating: System Error file=mbb_x50_pbx8839a1.zip response=
Access Error: Page not found

File write error during upload

Has anyone encountered this before? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have not come across that issue but you could try an emergency upload, via System Search Tool.

Also not sure about upgrading directly from 3.1 to 5.0. Maybe try an interim release first like 4.1. The 470 is quick to upgrade so won't take long.

Thanks for replying sarond. I took your advice and upgraded to rel. 4.1. It worked...but it seemed to get hung in the communication upgrade portion. It remained in that stage for approximately 40 minutes. I manually rebooted the call server via the control panel. After the communication server restarted, I checked the software type via the control panel and it has 4.1s software. However, the system does not have any IP settings assigned to it. The IP address is 0.0.0.0. I checked on the control panel display and the system search tool. Using the search tool, I tried assigning IP settings to the controller but it's prompting me for a username and password; which I do not have. Thinking there's a username and password on the interwebs.

What are your thoughts on what has transpired thus far? Did I possibly make a mistake by manually resetting the call server?

Thanks

You should be able to recover by using boot mode.
While powering up the system press 'Enter' button during 'Red LED' phase.
You should then be able to upload the software via the System Search Tool.

The system search tool was unable to locate the comm servers IP address which was 0.0.0.0. I rebooted the system and discovered that I can assign the default IP address to the comm server. The search tool is now finding the server. I selected the US-Freemarket and was then prompted for a username and password. I tried the default username/password for R3.2 and R4.0 according to Module 4 of training manual but neither worked. The rel running on the system is 4.1. Searching for a default username and password for 4.1
thinking about doing a FirstStart.

Are you referring to the Web username/password?
What are you using?

I figured it out. I went ahead and did a Firststart on the call manager. I then upgraded the system to R5.0. I can now login to the system using the default username and password for that release. Please share your opinion about my course of action.

I am now on my way to programming my first MiVoice Office 470. Sure I'll be creating more posts in the near future.

Thanks for your help.

I thought the default was admin/33aastra on the older releases.

On recent versions when you first start you are asked to create a password.

Yes, I used the admin/33aastra and that combo also failed. It's as though a portion of the first upgrade did not work. Really strange.
