Good morning, I don't have a clear understanding of call rerouting in the MiVoice Business platform and would like to ask for your help. I want to point a DID to an extension. If the call to that extension is not answered in x amount of time, I'd like it to cover to an auto attendant.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming the Extension will have it's own mailbox and the auto-att you want to use is the Top level.

To reach the top level auto-att you need to Route (start using that term) to the VM from a DN that does not have an associated mailbox. Or terminate directly to VM which does not apply in your case.

The simplest method for your purpose is to create a Ring Group with the target extension as the only member.

The ring group can the be set to overflow to VM after a ringing timer or queue timer expires.

For typical extensions/DNs we your Re-Routing tables to "cover" to alternate extensions.

You define the destination in 1 of 3 forms based on when the routing needs to occur
[ul]
[li]call rerouting always - will route immediately to destination[/li]
[li]Call rerouting 1st alternative - will route after the COS option Fwd No Answer expires[/li]
[li]Call rerouting 2nd alternative - will route after the 1st alt fails to answer based on a timer[/li]
[/ul]

Once the destinations are defined, you can assign the value to a station in the Call Rerouting form.

Note: an alternate way to route a Ring Group is to use rerouting, but I like overflow as everything is in one place.

Can you explain what you mean by the Top level AA? Do you mean Single Digit Mailbox 1 in the MLAA form?

Top Level AA is controlled via the Admin MB 999,9999,99999 etc

Day/Night greetings

This is no different than the SX-200's you're used to.

I need to add more information to this thread.

The hotel is set up with two auto attendants. One is for the hotels main number. The second is for the restaurants main number.
The hotels AA is set up as the top level AA. The main numbers DID points to the VM pilot number. The greeting is press 1 for sales. 2 for reservations etc...
The restaurant's main number points to a mailbox that is set up as a MLAA with 3 prompts (1 for reservations, 2 for events and 3 for the host stand)

I want to change the routing of the restaurant's main number. I want the first answer point to be the host stand extension. After 6 rings, I want it to cover to the restaurant's AA.

I created a ring group with only 1 member which is the host stands extension. The host stand extension has its own mailbox. The ring groups overflow point is the mailbox that I set up as MLAA for the restaurant. When I call the restaurant's main number it rings but instead of covering to the restaurant's MLAA, it is covering to the hotels AA.

That's not how the 3300 works (or the 200 for that matter)

The Mitel systems keep track of the original dialed extension for VM integration. Overflowing the Ring Group to the MLAA extension will serve no purpose as when the VM answers it will try to associate with a mailbox matching the ring groups DN and if one does not exist, it will play the top level AA. (as you have noticed)

Luckily, they is a simple way to break the integration and achieve your result.

Make the Ring Group DN match the MLAA MB except prefix the DN with a *(Star)

e.g.
[ul]
[li]MLAA MB = 1234[/li]
[li]Ring Group DN = *1234[/li]
[li]Ring Group overflows to VM[/li]
[li]MLAA MB answers[/li]
[/ul]
