I'm programming a 470 for the first time. It's going... I just plugged in the 6873i SIP terminal and it is not getting an IP from the enabled DHCP server from the communications server. I plug the phone into the PoE switch, it boots up but stops loading at 20% DHCP server first, it hangs for several moments then jumps to 45% Bad Certificate, hangs for several moments, hits 92% SIP Server, then the screen flashes and the menu appears with the time and date in the upper right corner of the screen.

I have the DHCP server enabled in the communication server. My settings look ok but obviously I have not configured something correctly. I'm attaching a screenshot of my DHCP server settings for review. Appreciate any help and feedback.

thanks

I forgot to add that if I go to the IP Addresses form, I can see that an IP address has been assigned to my 6873i Phone. It is the only phone that I have connected to the system.

I would first try is Compatibility mode for self-signed certs
Maintenance>General

After the phone upgrades its firmware it should start booting fine.

I'll give this a shot. I recall from the 400 course that there is a way to login into the phones via a web browser but cannot recall the username and password. Do you recall what they are?

Thanks

That did it Sarond. The following settings were not activated: Compatibility mode for TLS v1.0, FTP Service
After enabling those settings, I unplugged the terminal from the PoE switch and watched it update all settings successfully. It then rebooted about 3 times. It's now active. Gonna continue down the path of building my first 470.

Thanks for your help.

I discovered an error message after logging out and back into the call server that pertains to a setting I just enabled. Upon logging into the call server, I received the following message:
470_All_HTTPS_connections_error_dolwkp.jpg

I disabled 'Compatibility mode' for TLS v1.0, restarted the phone and it appears to be working just fine now. Do I not need this setting enabled or is there another way to resolve the error message?

Thank you

No this is only needed for the older 67xx series phones.

Once the 68xxi phones have been upgraded you can untick the box again.

Thank you sarond. You've been great help!
