Miva v.4 Affiliate Feature

It does need a special URL when clicking from the affiliate's site to yours.
The affiliate only gets credit for the purchase if the customer makes the purchase during that session; if they later come back to your site directly, the affiliate does not get the credit.
The general agreement seems to be that the built-in affiliate program is...less than useful. Those who have tried various approaches recommend Starbase 21's add-on AgentTrkPro - a bit pricey, but apparently the only player for this type of module.
