Im no YA expert but i completed the online course recently and have worked on several setups, the majority are ok but one site is proving to be a real nightmare.

i have a problem with one of our customers as stated below:-

Problem is that when user logs on to his YA for the first time in a 24hour period, everyhing works fine.
If for some reason he needs to log out of it, or has to reboot his laptop, it will stop working.

Ethereal testing and logs are not showing any issues and have tried to re-create his account as well ad de-install, re-install software. Deleted his config as well before re-installing and still having same problem. Mitel have also viewed the yac.log file but this didnt identify any issues.
They dont seem to have a clue!

Any advice would be extremely gratefully recieved,im off to the customer site on monday 22nd and really need a solution / way to progress.

First, what is your envirronment ?
Do you have an dedicated machine for YA ?
What are your licences ?
Do you collaborate ?
When a user wants to log and it fails, what happens exactly ?
Where does YA stops ?
Do you have a special event in event viewer ?
What is the ICP ?
Version ?

Please detail...

Now, it's about French users too !!!

Environment??? Basically all server and pc specs meet mitels requirements including MDAC, NteFramework etc. These all connect via layer 3 switches. Ethereal traces have been run on the customers network and there are know obvious issues.

We have a dedicated server for the YA software, there again this meetsthe required spec stated by mitel.

I have spare ip user and device licenses, they have more than they need.

The YA softphone on the affected PC initiates and functions fine initially in the morning.if for any reason the user has to reboot his PC, log on or off etc he is then unable to log back into the softphone. He uses a dock for his laptop, unsure if this is causing any problems.....its one thing im going to investigate monday.


i havent done any work as such with the event viewer, what should i look for??

its a MX controller version 6.1

Event viewer is a window feature...sometimes it can help.

What happens when users try to log and it fails ?
Where does it stop ?

Now, it's about French users too !!!
 
YA 3.2 has a problem which will stop the dial from outlook feature working once you stop and start YA. this doesnt happen on every install but HP machines seem to be more prone to this.

If you do the registry fix as identified on MOL once YA has started it will work fine until the next time it is restarted.

Mitel are investigating and a fix should be available soon.
