Good morning,

I have a customer in the UK, Europe and the USA that has approx. 7 Mitel controllers - MXe controllers and CX Controllers.

All systems are Enterprise and are all on version 6.0

The customer is looking to purchase another Mitel controller in Brazil with 5 x Mitel extensions, I would have thought that a CX Controller would be perfect..... however the Mitel partner has advised that if the customer is looking at R2D connectivity then they will need an MXe Controller.

Can someone please advise what R2D is, and for 5 extensions what would be the best connectivity be.

In the UK we would use ISDN2 lines, however I know ISDN2 is not available in Brazil.

Many thanks

Andy

The only thing I can think is that only T1/E1 Combo Card is supported on CX/i not the Dual T1/E1.
I don't know if there are protocols that the Dual T1/E1 supports that the Combo card doesn't. In Australia we only use ISDN PRI (E1) or QSIG.

Looks like R2D is an E1 using D channel signalling. So it depends whether the Cx combo card can do R2D signalling....ah but then I doscover this...R2 Network Services Unit which is not supported on the CX being Fibre connected hence not on the CX. So it looks like they are correct.

Sure its not a Star Wars character?
