I have an issue where I cannot get SDS to start sharing from one vMCD(#1) to another vMCD(#2). There are also another 2 x MXe controller's on which SDS works fine from the first vMCD(#1). It's just a vMCD to vMCD issue. The vMCD's are each on a different VMware server, one in the office and one in a datacentre. All vMCD/MXe's are running 4.2 SP1 (10.2.1.23) software and have IP trunks setup and working. it is possible ping between also devices, so doesn't look like an IP issue. If I stop and start SDS on vMCD(#2), then retry the sharing from vMCD(#1), it looks like it's going to work, but then hangs forever and never completes. If I run a putty session on vMCD(#2), I get the following message whilst trying to share from vMCD(#1);

-> ERR-Software: 2011/05/26 12:35:45: Main: CDSAcceptor.cpp(432): OSA: CDSAcceptor::HandleAccept: EnableSecurity failed!

This then repeats constantly every 5-10 minutes, until the action is cancelled.

If it fails on it's own, the SDS Synchronization Result is as follows;

"Could not start sharing with the following network element because they could not be verified"

Error Message
Verification Failed: The remote network element did not respond. Make sure the network connection is working and that SDS is enabled on the remote network element

SDS is enabled and all Element/Cluster/IP details have been double checked and then checked again, all are correct.

The IP is contained within the host range of a /30 subnet and is not the subnet or broadcast address (as per the manual).

Many thanks for any answers given.

The enablesecurity failed might be a clue.

Can you log in with the same username and password on vMCD2 as you are using on vMCD1?
also check that the user account has all the same permissions enabled

As this is a new install, all systems have default accounts with root access. I have tried adding other accounts to all controllers, but same applies.

have you tried to start sharing from vmcd2 to vmcd1?

Yes, tried that. Same thing applies. I had to turn off SDS on both vMCD1 and trunking gateways then on again to allow this. I have also tried dropping back to default configs on both vMCD's with the minimum programming required, but still the same. The only thing I haven't tried is changing the IP address, but can't see that would make any difference.
