Hello all,
We took over a hotel and installing a new sx200 AX but leaving the room phones alone. The customer wants to leave the desi alone for the room phones so we are going to replicate what's on the them now.

Right now the desi says "room to room dial 7 + room number". The rooms are 3-digit.
My first thought is to build the room extensions leading with a 7.......room 201 is 7201 and so forth....easy enough. But then when guests call down to the desk it says room 7201 on the display....not a bad thing but I'd like to have it display the 3 digit room number instead.

Is there any way to build the room extensions as the 3 digit then do some routing magic with a leading digit of a 7 pointing to the 3 digit room extensions? So far I can only get ARS to grab a outside trunk route not an internal route.

Thanks!

if the speedcall access code is 7 you can have speedcall 7xxx dial xxx

Yes, brilliant! I just changed the speedcall code to 7 and now I just have to build 164 abbreviated dial entries.

Thanks!

How many abbreviated dial entries are allowed in the form?

the SX-200 has 1000 speedcall bins. 000 to 999

You can do some wild things using speed dial, just remember to keep conflicts out

You can use conflicts to your advantage (or lack there of)

If you use 001 and do not use 010-019 or 100-199 then 001 can be dialed without the zeros (2 digit)

same with 010-019 can be 3 digit dialed if you avoid 100-199

Would you guys (jpruder & kwbMitel) mind sharing some examples of what kind of "wild things" you can do with speed dials? Thsnks

Most of the interesting things that can be done with speedcalls relate back to the old analog integration with VM.

The only fancy stuff I do these days relates to Auto-Att programming.

e.g.
- An auto Attendant hunt group would be programmed with prefix digits for speeddial - say 599 where 5 in the access code
- I have 4 digit extensions starting with 3
- Speeddial 993 would have the following 3*303
- this would dial the 3 and wait for 3 more digits

Roger that kwb. On another thread, you previously brought the Auto-attendant programming to my attention. I was curious to know if there were other applications for speed calls. Thanks!
