Is there some way to program the F key's on a supercon to do a specific command when the set is idle?

I would like to give the girls an F key to "page all zones".

I checked the users guide on the SC and as detailed it is, it doesn't indicate how (and if) that can be done.

Thanks!

PS: The F9 key has REDIAL beside it.

Not the F keys, no.

But there are 3? programmable keys. on the first row of grey keys. If memory serves they can be programmed as a speed call.

If more details are required I can source it in the manual tomorrow.

Heya kwb, hope you doing good!! Yes I'd appreciate it. We have an unusual circumstance where several staff members have been threatened by some nutcase. The building is on "lock down" right now. But the layout of the building is odd. The "ground" floor is the lobby/reception area which leads to the elevator and to 2 stair wells. Three exits are on that level, but only the main doors allow entrance. Yes I did recommend they put in a panic button years ago but you know that pesky cost thing.

But if they could just tap 1 key to page all zones, then the 1rst and second floors would at least be able to tell that something might be up.

Thinking outside the box, i think the 200 cabinet has relays that can be controlled via phones. would it be possible to say program one of the gray keys to trip a relay which in turn i could tie into the alarm system or some other type of signaling device?

I'm handy with a soldering iron and think i've found the pin outs for a circuit.

Thanks for your help!!

Attendant Console Macro Keys
Description
This feature allows users of the SUPERCONSOLE 1000 to program Macro keys. A macro is a series of keystrokes that you assign to a single key. Instead of repeating the keystrokes each time you want to perform a task, you press the macro key to execute all the keystrokes at once. Macro keys may be used for transferring calls to voice mail that have recalled to the console (recovering calls released to the wrong extension), or for one-button dialing of frequently called telephone numbers.
Conditions
The following conditions applies to this feature:
• This feature is available on the SUPERCONSOLE 1000 (Part Numbers 9189-000-300 and 9189-000-301).
• The blank key next to the Set Page key on the console can be programmed as a macro key.
• The Trunk Group and Set Page keys can be reprogrammed as macro keys. To return the functionality back, delete the macro key functionality.
• Resetting the console does not erase the programming for the macro keys.
• Upgrading firmware does erase the programming for the macro keys.
• While programming a macro key, you can answer a call by pressing the Answer key. After Release Idle, the initial screen appears.
• If you want to recover a call that you transferred to a wrong extension, you must press the macro key while the extension is still ringing. Recovery also depends on no other action being started, such as dialing or answering a call, following the transfer. The Cancel key can also be used to recover calls.

Or As An Alternate solution

The SUPERCONSOLE 1000 with part numbers 9189-000-300 and 9189-000-301 can directly connect up to two PKM 48 devices. The older models require a Direct Station Select/Busy Lamp Field (DSS/BLF) Interface Module to associate up to two PKM 48 devices with the attendant console.

Macros! Man I have not heard that term in ages. With you posting i was able to google and found R2 version of the manual.

It explains in detail how to program it.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Follow up: The R2 manual show me how i can program the SC that i use, but it did not work for the ones in the lobby. I suspect they are older then my console.

What I was able to do is swipe a copper pair that ran from an analog phone that goes into the fone room and where the alarm panel is located.

Sadly, the company "has an other plan, don't worry about it Jim"

And so it goes
