Hello,

We have a Mitel SX200, and we were trying to deactivate call forwarding on one of the extension (from the main reception phone set), and it seems we pushed the wrong keys, now all the VoiceMails are inactive.

Before when we call the extensions we got the personal voicemail of the users, now there is an old Auto Attendant message we used to use (many years ago) that says "Welcome, please enter the extension number of the person you wish to reach". We get this AutoAttendant message no matter what extension we dial, and it is after the phone ring many times (unanswered).

Is there a way to deactivate this Auto Attendant and reactivate the users' standard voicemails from the main reception phone set?

Thank you very much for your help,

Regards,
Richard

best guess:

you accessed the System Admin mb and changed the digit length of the mailboxes.

Do Not Act on this advice unless you actually accessed the system admin mailbox.

How can we access the system admin mailbox? is there a way to change this parameter from the main reception phone set?

The problem is the I didn't do it, the user that did it is not sure what keys he pushed. According to him, he was just working with Call Forwarding, but obviously there must be something else.

Thanks,

if forwarding were eliminated system wide it would not affect the system in the way you describe

only by deleting all mailboxes would the symptom appear

Dial VM access Code
it should ask for a mailbox
Dial a single 9 and wait to see if it requests passcode
if yes, hopefully you know the admin passcode
if no, try again with two 9s, three 9s, etc

once it is determined how many 9s are in the admin mb, compare this number to the qty of digits in a normal extension

if they are the same, i'm wrong, and we start over.

if they are different, then you need to access the mb, press 1 to initialize the voicemail and follow the prompt to change the digit length.
once the digit length is restored you can hang up without changing anything else

at this point you will need to recreate all of your mailboxes

once recreated, all users must initialize their mailboxes

one minor miracle is messages will be retained for anyone who had them.

Oh, and if all of this is correct, make sure the other person knows how much they owe you as they ****ed up big time.

Thank you very much for your help.

is there a way you can help us out with this? Remote support by phone? how much will you charge us? We are in Calgary, Alberta, and We'd like to get the Voicemail active (again) by tomorrow 8am, is that possible?

Thank you again

I understand your need.

You really should go thru your service provider (Bell, Allstream(Delphi), other)

You are close enough to me to create a conflict of interest so I could only help you officially thru my employer

I would require remote access to your system which would be hard to do in the timeframe

If you're still interested, Sunco Edmonton

Thanks, I think I will contact our service provider.
