Mitel Standard Linux PPPoE problem

I seem to be having a problem adding a PPPoE connection to Mitel Standard Linux version 9.0.22.0.

When I add the PPPoE connection details (username/password) to my server, and after rebooting the NIC I am using for the WAN connection 'disappears'. The OS will not see it at all.

I have replaced the NIC and even attempted this with a different machine. I have found that after rebooting multiple times and 'reconfiguring' the server the NIC will re-appear, but it is not consistent.

I have noticed that when you enter the Server Console and select Configure Server that it will usually forget that the second NIC should be in use, but this appears to be different. So far as the operating system is concerned, the second card does not exist at all.

Anyone encountered this problem before?

Any help appreciated,

Conor

Yes I have had this before woth our teleworker server.
Used to drive me nuts.
Every now and then a server reboot would result in no NIC for the Wan side and therefore no teleworkers.
We have since upgraded on the same server to MSL 9.1.21.0
and MBG 5.2.14.0

This new version of MSL seems to have made that problem dissapear.

Unfortunately an upgrade is
backup to usb,
release AMC license,
reload MSL,
resync with AMC
reload Blades
reload backup.

Yeah, looks like thats exactly it. I re-installed with 9.1.24.0 and it's working fine now.

Such a hassle, I spent close to 2 days (and 2 servers) trying to sort that out. Oh well, you live and learn.

Thanks for the tip.

Conor
