Is anyone using the PrairieFyre Call Accounting package? If so, may I ask what your opinion of it is? Am currently running SyncVoice VXTracker and need something new.

Thanks!!

As much as I am an advocate of Mitel, I detest The Prairiefyre Call Accounting. Prep time of the server alone is more time than most systems take to completely install and configure.

If you are tracking multiple systems however, it might be a good choice. Reports are generated in Excel format which might be important to the bean counters.

For standalone systems I recommend Genesis Software. Simple installation and very flexible reporting.

I have Prairiefyre since June 08 and I never like it. It has all kind of problems. It took too much time for initial setup and glitches. Also, I recently have duplicate phone calls on my monthly report.

BAD
1. If you are using SQL express not full version, the SQL database is maximum at 4GB.
2. I installed 4GB RAM and the SQL process is taking almost 3GB RAM. The Support is not sure the server is taking too much RAM in the process.
3. You have to call International Long Distance to CANADA for support. They don't have any 800-xxx-xxxx number.
GOOD
1. Like KwbMitel said, you can export the monthly report to Excel, which is nice for our billing department.
2. The Support is friendly and willing to work with you.
3. You can group extensions into staff, guest or etc...

Overall, I wish we don't have it.......

Thanks for info.

We're already using PrairieFyre CCM so yes, I'm all to familiar w/the pain of server setup. However, once done it seems to have been relatively bulletproof.

I'm also not a fan of Call Accounting, especially in this day when domestic toll is 3 cents a minute. The chore of call accounting feels like we're stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. We use it more for "witch hunts" than anything else.
