We have been able to feed back some more of our Wish List stuff towards Mitel.
not sure whether they will action or not but I think its time for another wishlist?

I was checking out kwb's last one and some of them have come to fruition
- browsers can be firefox - its not chrome but its a start
- there is now a did translation table
- outgoing alpha tagging
- voicemail transfer via messages key

At the moment our highest wish is for Hotdesk users to remember where they were after a system reset or upgrade.
- we have more and more datacentre hosted systems with remote sites and if there is a minor link outage the hotdesk users all get logged out and are complaining that they have to log back in.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Hello,

1) Chrome support is slowing being added to more and more Mitel products all the time. You can use Chrome for MAS/MSL, however it may not be supported if you run into an issue. So far, we have had no issues in using Chrome on MAS/MSL. MiVoice Business (MCD) has Chrome support coming.

2) Your Hot Desking request makes complete sense. I will inquire about it during our next Steering Committee meeting and see where it is on the list.

Cheers!

Still waiting for embedded Meet-Me conference bridge. First rumor was 6.0, then 7.0. This must be an impossible function to add to the OS. Right now, if we have a customer who insists on hosting their own conference bridge we sell them an IP Office. What a shame.

Hello SXWizard,

1) Yes, you are correct, this has been bumped a number of times. There is a number of reason why it has been bumped every time. Surprisingly, this remains a very important DCR and Mitel has pushed it back a number of times, hesitantly each time. Mitel understands how important this is.

2) I may actually have a solution for you that is ready to go now. In situations where you are selling them an IP Office (IPO) , can you answer these questions:

A) When you sell an IPO, are you selling an IPO 500 V2 chassis or are you selling IPO Server Edition?

B) When you are selling the IPO for conferencing, is VMware generally an option available to you? I.e. if we had a software-only solution, how would you install it, on a s dedicated piece of hardware (server) or in most situations is a VMware environment available to you? Understandably the solution Mitel is looking to implement is right on MiVoice Business (MCD), I'm just questioning this because I may have a solution for you today.

C) IPO allows a lot of parties in a conference (total capacity is 128 with up to 64 in a single conference). The design intent behind the new on-board conferencing server of MiVoice Business is around (~) 8 members. How many members are you expecting/wanting in a conference? As you can see there is a huge difference between what Avaya offers today with IPO and what Mitel is planning to offer with this new conference bridge.

D) Are you looking to support multiple simultaneous conferences, or is one conference at a time okay?

E) Finally, can you let me know why MiCollab with Mitel Collaborator Advanced (MCA), formerly AWC is not desired?

If you can let me know those answers, I may be able to suggest a solution today that is rather inexpensive.

Thanks!

When We lost a sale due to lack of meet me conferencing, the requirements were pretty simple.

The customer just wanted a number that users could call to join , no pin numbers etc . they rang and were in .

it was used for very quick on the fly conferencing.
They would have accepting an 8 party limitation.
At the time they didn't want to have to have another server( MAS) and didn't want to have to create a conference and give others an access code to enter it.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Billz66,

We have a solution that meets those requirements. It's highly configurable, however is the simplest conference bridge on the planet. Its designed to work with almost any system, however all the software we develop is specifically written for Mitel's MiVoice Business (MCD/3300).

Next time you have a requirement for that, let me know. We can help you there.

Billz66,

I think I said it, but just to be clear, the software conference bridge we have would work exactly the way your customer requested. We can make it work where you just dial in, and in you go. We would recommend a single, 4x digit pin to prevent toll fraud, but that's optional.

@ Billz66 - You can have a dial in 7 Party, no codes conference on the 3300 as is. (actual theoretical limit is more than 7 and upwards of 30)

There is a FAQ for this and I have tried it and it works quite well. faq1329-5872

You only need a Spare Analog port and Trunk setup as a loopback

Unfortunately most of our systems are vMCD these days ( no analogs or analog trunks ), Also we would prefer something that is supported.
I don't see why Mitel cant just add it as a feature without us having to engineer it.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Good morning Billz66,

As I had said, we have a software-only solution that meets all of your needs - with no modification. Let me know if you require any info on the solution. The solution is part of the Mitel Solution Alliance (MSA).

Key System Features such as being able to assign individual analog lines like a 200ICP. Also be able to suppress Calling Line ID on a per call basis on outbound PRI Non-SIP calls.

Just because I have come up against it recently; the ability to print wakeup logs only (not hotel logs) via LPR1 or IP on a permanent basis.

It would save heaps of time if the Label field on programmable keys could be linked to the User name for DSS/BLF keys. So if you update the name of a User then any DSS/BLF keys associated with that directory number have the label automatically updated.

anything in the near future on "direct to ars", on the 3300 similar to the 200?

Small thing: I'd like a comments field for System Speed Calls. It would he particularly useful to identify which speed calls belong to different trunks if multiple connections are present (PRI/SIP)

ANI-Based call routing, so we're able to block/ reroute incoming call based on caller id.

@Pandabear1 - Re: Direct to ARS (now my #1 with DID translation being delivered)
[ul]
[li]No, I really don't think they understand the need.[/li]
[li]I've resorted to programming my ARS without a leading digit on occasion. It works for me but I live in NA where LD is 1+ and I only have to contend with 2 area codes for local 10 digit dialing. As long as I avoid conflicts with 1 and my area codes I'm good. I don't think this works quite as well in other countries.[/li]
[/ul]
@Seacats - comment fields everywhere! ARS especially

@Epearson re:Also be able to suppress Calling Line ID on a per call basis on outbound PRI Non-SIP calls.
[ul]
[li]Outbound calling over PRI has had Call-by-Call Block Caller ID since inception or at least as far back as the IMAP gateways (as long as the Telco allows)[/li]

1) I have a lot of customers using 3300's supporting per nodes. We would like to migrate them to ASU II but the 30 meter limit on the CIM is killing the opportunities. Need to have ASU that can interface fiber or Ethernet.

2) SDS on large deployments of MCD networks is too slow and cumbersome. Put some more thought into streamlining SDS and synchronization.

3) This is low priority......put some knowledge into the Knowledge Base. I can get better answers from Tek Tips than MOL.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

I'd love to see the CITELink gateway or a similar device that supports DNIC phones as IP. It's a little ridiculous that some customers who may have tens of thousands of DNIC sets in the field have to purchase new handsets to stay current with software.

I agree on comments for Speed Calls, but would also like Comments for any number that needs to be set to Local Only, i.e. Page Groups, Hunt Groups, etc. It would help jog the memory on what the number was doing.
