I have installed a Peripheral cab on a MX 3300. I configured the modules and assigned the PLIDS.

When I look at the Peripheral cab it seems to just count then stops for a while and then starts counting again, very fast (not sure how else to describe this).

I have a critical alarm with the following:
Per Msglink
Receivers
SFT Zones
All of these indicating, obviously that the Per cab and the controller are not communicating. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be. I have port on the FIM with no luck. The sync lites are lit so I don't suspect the Fiber cable.
Is there anywere were I could read up on the PSC card codes and boot sequence?

Thanks

Check to see if you have steady link lights on your fiber connection between your 3300 and the PER cabinet FIM. One of the most common mistakes is to accidentally reverse transmit & receive fibers. All you may need to do is swap the connectors at one end.

The alarms you have are in fact indicative of loss of communications with the peripheral cabinet.

OK, if I had read your original post more closely I would have seen that you have link lights on your fiber connections. Sorry.

Recheck your programming:
Peripheral nodes can only occupy units 6 through 13 (in any order).

Enter the fiber interface (1 through 4) to which the controller module is connected. The number of entries is dependent on the system configuration. There is a 12 unit limitation.

Enter the Port ID on the Module (1 or 2). Each Module has 2 ports, labeled 1 and 2. Each Port has 2 FIM connectors, RX and TX.

Select "FD PER" to indicate a fiber distributed peripheral cabinet (or "FD DSU" to indicate a fiber distributed digital services unit) Since you're trying to install a peripheral cabinet this would be "FD PER".

Enter the fiber interface (6 through 13) to which the peripheral node is connected.

Enter the appropriate card shelf location (1 or 2).
(Shelf 2 only applies with expanded peripherals)

Enter the appropriate card slot location (FD PER, 17; FD DSU, 1 or 6).

Thanks for the reply,

The problem was in fact the PSC card that was faulty. I changed the card and was able to program the trunks.
