This is a two part question:

We recently upgraded our MAS to the latest version and our NuPoint to 5.0 SP1.

#1: All of the sudden our voicemail messages have been getting routed to the junk mail folder in Outlook 2010. No change has been made to Exchange or our domain. This is also not happening with all mailboxes (intermittent). We have white listed and marked individual messages to never block sender/domain. We don't like the idea of having to instruct all users to do this. We are still trying to figure out why this would change when we have been operating on UM Advanced and Standard for 3 years. I read the help files..appears google apps is mentioned..I assume this is due to the upgrade at this point. As a side note, when an Advanced UM subscriber voicemail message is routed to the junk mail folder we do not get MWI. Works as designed but this is problematic. I have since moved all of my users over to Standard for VM retention via the TUI. Now we are getting reports that even our Standard users voicemails are routing to junk mail when this was not the case initially. Now we must determine whether to move them all back to general users with no UM. Any reports of a similar problem?

#2: In the process of investigating the issue of junk mail. I downloaded the Mitel NuPoint UM Outlook 2010 Add In version 8. I like the look and feel of the client but I have encountered a problem with the voicemail operation i.e. the ability to reply with voice or forward with voice to another mailbox. In short, it is waiting for line. The connection to the FQDN is established in settings. I suspect because we do not have lines configured to allow dial out. Has anyone set this up? Also, it looks like it might only be available for Advanced UM subscribers? Can anyone clarify? We have Standard UM users and we would like to roll this out to them as well. Any help from anyone that is knowledgeable about this new client would be appreciated. Thanks!

#2 Side NOTE: I looked at line groups for out dial functions. IF this is the action that needs to be taken, I might just restrict the use of this feature (I believe I read somewhere that you can..FCOS..hmmm)as our voicemail traffic routes over XNET and that is not the best use of our resources. Thanks

for #1: I would check for differences in the subject line that might affect how the Spam Filter handles the email.

For #2: I suspect the PC needs to be associated with the desktop so that the voicemail can call the desktop to get the recording.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Agree with kwbMitel. You also may need a outdial linegroup setup because if you are going to be reply with voice or forward with voice you would need to be able to add voice to the message. Since you are looking at the message in email you would therefore need a method of adding your voice comments. My thought would be the voicemail would need to call you so you can record and I think that would take a line group for outdial. Sort of the same as what you need when you used to be able to listen to a message by having the Nupoint call your phone. That I believe needed an outdial line group setup.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
