Hi,

Mitel MBG sip trunk not working when we connect the lap top with same mbg wan ip x-lite is working fine also ICP is working fine with out Mbg when we configured outbound proxy the mbg says remote sip trunk down but actualy remote trunk is up what is the problem. but minet remote phones working only sip trunk problem

any one explain this

Suresh

We have sip trunk already configured with ICP also MBG (Gate way mode) now few days sip trunk is not working when we check the stats MBG alarm says remote sip trunk is down also we did sip test in the MBG it says UDP 5060 time out so we thought internet problem so we got new another ISP aslo configured the new wan IP to MBG again same problem result also same for testing purpose we have configured the same in the laptop with X-Lite soft phone its working fine.
Our IP Configuration
202.xxx.xxx.xx MBG WAN
198.168.1.10 MBG Lan
198.168.1.1 MBG lan gw
198.168.1.2 ICP lan
198.168.1.10 ICP gw
When we give MBG ip for ICP gw this ICP get full internet access sip trunk also working but only analog phone IP phone there is no voice but before through MBG no problem.
I need solution:
01. Why sip trunk call not working only the IP phones without MBG?
02. Why MBG says remote sip trunk is down but already active?

Why are your gateways different?
as the ICP and MBG are on the same subnet they along with the phones should use the same default gateway wherever possible.

Dear
I don’t understand the Mitel SIP trunk calls issue now I will explain clearly can give solution
01. We give MBG IP to ICP gw (ICP get full internet access because MBG running Gate way mode)
02. We give ICP IP to all IP phones gw (Controller IP & Gate way IP both are Same)
03. Now all the analog and IP phones are working fine with PRI link
04. SIP trunk calls working only analog phone but IP Phone No voice One way audio
05. We give MBG IP to all IP phones gw then SIP trunk call started working
06. Why?
07. We can’t give MBG gw to all the system because all the system will get internet also we have connected some IP Phone different subnet
08. How we will do?

Suresh, it looks to me that you have a networking issue. If Analogs work well over SIP Trunks that means your E2T gateway is fine.

Why don't you give the same gateway to IP phones as you have for the E2T (the 3300 Controller)??

If you don't want users to go to the Internet get a firewall and isntall you MBG in the DMZ port.

Regards,

Daniel

01. We give MBG IP to ICP gw (ICP get full internet access because MBG running Gate way mode)

Ok this makes sense.

02. We give ICP IP to all IP phones gw (Controller IP & Gate way IP both are Same)

Any chance this is a CXi and your phones are plugged into the 3300 controllers built in layer 2 switch? Otherwise the IP address of the controller would not be the same as the Gateway IP address.

03. Now all the analog and IP phones are working fine with PRI link.

The PRI is attached to the controller so it should work.

04. SIP trunk calls working only analog phone but IP Phone No voice One way audio

The analog phones are attached to the controller so it makes sense that the analog phones can use the SIP trunks. The IP phones getting one way audio are a network issues. Did you define the IP Subnet that contains the IP phones in the local network panel of the MBG? All the Voice IP packets are getting sent to the controller which is not the case with SIP trunks. When a SIP trunk call is in process then voice streams need to stream between the IP address of the MBG and the IP address of the phone. By sending all the traffic to the 3300 its doesn't get to the MBG where the SIP trunks are and that is why you get one way audio.

05. We give MBG IP to all IP phones gw then SIP trunk call started working.

06. Why?

That is because the SIP trunks are on the MBG and since the phones can now reach the MBG they can make SIP calls.

07. We can’t give MBG gw to all the system because all the system will get internet also we have connected some IP Phone different subnet
08. How we will do?

No idea what you are talking about here.

Dear
Also we have cluster ICP3300 location B this ip 172.16.4.2 so we have two sub nets one is 192 & 172 this two with VLAN switch, sip calls issue same at location B how we will configure it or we need any additional requirements
Presently we have
MBG IP 192.168.1.10 GW 192.168.1.1 (running in gateway mode)
MCD A IP 192.168.1.2 GW 192.168.1.10 (SIP calls working only analog & IP Ph no voice)
MCD B IP 172.16.4.2 GW 172.16.4.1 (SIP calls analog & IP Ph no voice)
VLAN Switch PORTS 192.168.1.1, 172.16.4.1
her I cant give MBG ip for GW all the locations and we have internet only MBG with static IP
Now we have problem only sip call rest all ok no issues

How are the phones connected to the network. Do they plug directly into the controller or is there a layer 2 switch like an HP or a Cisco. You issue is as has already been pointed with your network and the ability for the IP phones to reach the MBG. The Controller can talk to the MBG which is proved by you not having problems with the analog phones. The IP phones or the information you are handing out to them is preventing the IP phones from communicating with the MBG. From you earlier posts it appears to be because you are giving the controller IP address as the gateway to the phones.

all the Ip phones are connected directly to each controller gw controller IP also I can able to ping all ip phones ip in the MBG

So when you say the phones are connected to the controller do you mean you have a CXi controller with the built in LAN ports? Also if you can pin the phones from the MBG can you ping the IP of the MBG from a phone? There is as a "local network" area in the MBG where you have to define all the networks ( IP subnets ) that have IP phones. Did you do that?

If the phones are connected directly to the controller ( ie CXi ) then the issue might be that the phones can't get through the Cxi to the MBG. Where is the MBG connected?

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

no we have MXe controller all the IP phones are connected with Ethernet switch via POE supply unit MBG,ICP IP ph are connected with one switch same subnet in Location A but Location B is different
