Mitel in the current marketplace

I have worked on Nortel for some time but I have run into Mitel on some small motels. I just ran into another one that looks in pretty good shape. The I/W is the real problem. How is Mitel these days as far as a competitor va Avaya and Cisco?

P.S. As I remember a log time ago Mitel se to be ( if I am not wrong ) the choice for hospitality of the old Bell System. Does anyone go back that far?

Mitel as a whole is a good company. If you look at their Market position it changes depending on your company. I think they are like 3 in North America, but 1 in many European countries. If you watch the business news you see that they are attempting to merge with Aastra which I would guess make them an even stronger company. I saw something recently that Cisco was dropping some product that was in the SMB market and concentrating on one system. That might help or hurt Mitel. Who knows.
