Hi I have just setup an AA which has options 1 to 4 which work fine, but at the start of the main AA greeting they want, if you know the ext number please dial it now. This works for exts which are at this site but they have ip trunking to 2 other sites and when you try and dial them from the AA it does not work, i have enabled all the normal options in COS and enabled dial any number except 9 in voicemail options ass.Any one have any ideas?

Easiest way to test is to program one of you multibutton display phones with the same COS and COR as a voicemail port.

Call the set with an external line and pretend to be the voicemail doing the transfer. This will tell you at what point the transfer fails and probably why. Let us know what the results of the test are.

I assuem this teh EMEM......
Do you have mailboxes programmed against those other 2 sites in the main voicemail? The voicemail will not dial an unreckognized extension.

mitelsx2k,

Go to VM Options, then set "Allow Transfer to any Number" to True. This should make it to work.

Daniel

Dan - He already said he enabled that option.
Telecomp - You do not need associated MB's

mitelsx2k - try my test and let us know at what point it fails.

e.g. One possible way it might fail.
Receive call - OK
Press Transfer - OK
Dial Extension on remote system - OK
Press release - Fail
Hangup - call rings back.

Tried tranfering from a button on a multiline set programmed the same cos and cor of the vm ports and you can transfer to any number including over the ip trunks,do you think its because the numbers that fail are ars routes and that the switch needs clustering as if i make a speedcall to an ext over the ip trunks then it works.

If the ones that are failing are associated with ARS Routes then the issue is more than likely with the COR. Making speeddials and selecting the override toll control option will more than likely resolve the issue without exposing your VM ports to toll fraud.

Only problem is that would involve around 200 speedcalls also you would have to dial the speedcall number from the AA and this would have to be different to there ext number.

mitelsx2k,

Do you get a error message from the VM or just reorder tone? Do you see anything in the logs or SMDR? I usually enable internal SMDR for situations like this until I find the solution. As long as an internal device answers a call made by another internal device, the call record will be sent through the SMDR.

"The only problem with common sense is that it's not that common

Usually in my designs, ARS that references an internal route to another system would not be restricted. It would appear that yours is restricted and is blocking the call from the voicemail. So 2 options, remove the restriction or give VM a COR that allows the route to be dialed.
