Hi,

Looking for some advice. Had an issue with one of our Mitel 300 MXe controllers. Took ages (about 12 minutes) to boot up after a power failure.

Everything seems to be working correctly however there is a major alarm present. MSP430 Failure.

Is someone able to tell me exactly what this means? Were running Release 4.1 SP2/Active software load 10.1.2.16.

I've raised a support call with our Support Company for advice on the issue also.

Thanks
Ian

From the alarm catergories of the help files:

MSP430 failure*,**
Monitoring of the status of the fans, power supplies and temperature of the system is compromised. When convenient, attempt to recover by shutting down the system using the RESET SYSTEM maintenance command and when the system starts booting up, power it down. Leave it powered down for 30 seconds and then power up. If the problem persists, arrange for system repair

BTW - 12 Minutes is a fast bootup. It is unlikely to ever be less than that. (with current SW that is)

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Odds are its a late system with a SSD rather than a spinny disc, makes a big difference to boot times.

I would suggest that 12 minutes after a reboot to full service is acutally good.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

It is a known issue that is fixed in 4.2 SP2

MN00370720/MN00381665 - Raised Major Alarm on MSP430 failure
REPORTED IN SW LOAD - 10.2
SYMPTOMS
Alarm is showing will not clear the alarm is Raised Major Alarm on MSP430 failure
OR Mxe III appears to have MSP430 alarm and cannot be clear.

Workaround = 2 options
issue g_ForceBootromUpgrade = 1 on RTC, then use ESM to upgradebootrom all. and reboot.
If option A does not work, issue sys_430_reset on RTC shell.
