Morning,

I hope you can help with an issue. I am attempting to get the above phone issue resolved, the light is flashing to indicate a message, however when pressing the key as if to go to the voicemail, it says no messages. I have spent a few hours looking for the solution but cannot seem to find this. I have tried using the features menu, however I think this may be disabled or maybe not allowed on this particular phone to change anything.

I have tried turning off and on also. The phone is in use for a new employee to the company, so maybe this is something to do with the previous user? I am not sure, however there is definitely no messages when going to voicemail and entering the pin to go into voicemail messages.

thank you.

When your phone has the flashing mail light and you have no voicemail messages it usually means you have a Callback message. These can be removed by following the simple steps below.

With the handset down, press the flashing Mail button
The display will show “Call Me Back”, press yes
This will display who the callback is from and you can press Erase to remove the Callback.

Hope this is OK

Thank you for your response, however this appears not to be possible, when you press the message button down, with the phone on the hook, the message provided on the phone states "NO MESSAGES" there is nothing stated about a call back

Taz666's point is accurate but I've not heard of the method he uses to clear the flashing MWI. I recall having to clear the MWI from the console.

What is the make, model and current software of your system?
Is a console being used at this company? If so, what is the model of the console?

Is the user the first member of a Hunt Group or Ring Group that has a mailbox?

There should be a Feature Code of *91 Message Waiting Deactivate. From the phone dial *91+Ext# ex. *91 8529. I have this happen on a regular bases. Good Luck.

The message waiting deactive code is a programmable feature and will vary depending on how your system is programmed.

Thanks for the responses, the *91 entry worked, thank you.

First use the locate feature extension xxx command to determine if this is a callback or dialed message waiting. Then there is a detailed FAQ on how to proceed
