Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem with the 5312.

Place a call by hitting the speaker button without picking up the handset. Every other call there is one way audio ( I can hear the person that was called but he cannot hear me ) until I pick up the handset. Now when I pick up the hand set two way audio is there, if I hit speaker and put the caller on speaker phone now it works fine. It is just the initial call. This also happens when 9 is dialed without picking up the handset to get an outside line.

Mitel MXE 3300 9.0.2.31_1
MPBG 5.1.7

I also just recently updated the 53XX firmware, you know the manual replacement of the boot files that was release like a month ago. This problem was happing before the fireware update and is still happening today.

Can anyone else relate to this problem?

Is this the only 5312 you have, or the only one experiencing the problem?

If this is an isolated phone, then my initial thought is perhaps a hookswitch problem. Try it with the handset off the cradle, but firmly holding down the hookswitch. Based on the other information though I would be surprised if this is the case, but worth a check.

You could also try to put them on Hold, then Retrieve and see if the audio comes back. If it does then it's definitely not the hookswitch.

When you start a call on hook, and you then go off hook, nothing in the streaming outside of the phone changes, so the problem lies within the phone (or the phone software load) itself.

Thanks for the fast reply, however I just found out that there is another firmware update for the 5312 / 24 that came out specifically for this problem. Looks like Ill be upgrade tonight. The patch is not released to the public as of yet, so if you are experiencing the same problems call into mitel support and have them send it via FTP.
