Hey everyone...

I am still very new to the Mitel world and could use some guidance on Sync for unified messaging.

I went to basic I&M class for the 5000 but we ran out of time to go over email sync... the student book is very vague on how to set i up and make it look easy.

Does anyone know what document to use for setup?? Iv'e been looking and find different ones that go over certain parts but not really detailed.

or can anyone give me direction on the easiest way to do this??? my customer is using outlook.

I called Mitel and the tech I got was a bit over my skill level when he was talking about the domain, ssl ports and other stuff to ask the IT staff so I can set up the mitel. I feel pretty stupid that I should know stuff like this... but anyways.... HELP!!!!

What level of UM (E-Mail Synch) are going to deploy?

With forward only/forward & copy, it's all about setting up the email gateway (System/E-mail Gateway). You need to populate the admin address; use a name for the SMTP (Exchange) server, using an IP fails for me; Domain Name and DNS Search List (System/IP Settings) need to be populated to resolved the email server name; enter email address in users MB (E-mail Synch) and select Forward Only / Fwd & Copy, they should get welcome email.

With Enhanced Integration, it's all about the MB; enter server name (Exchange) & user's email credentials; Set Account Folder (usually "Inbox", unless they setup a special folder in Outlook); Domain Name and DNS Search List (System/IP Settings) need to be populated to resolved the email server name; enter email address in users MB (E-mail Synch) and select Enhanced Integration, they should get welcome email.

FYI - The "Help" (F1) documentation located in Session Manager is quite helpful and easy to search.
