Hello everyone,
I have created a separate network for the Mitel 5000 controller and the IP phones to use because I do not want the phones utilizing the same network as the computers for voice quality issues. I have used a simple Linksys router as the default gateway for the above to route them to a static internal (lan) IP from the data side that the IT rep reserved for me. So, I can now successfully use the vmail to email feature successfully so that is good - but I want to browse to the Mitel 5000 from computers on the data network to use the configuration assistants and program the 5000 via browser.
Since it is a separate network, it obviously is not working.
What can I do?

Thanks!

Eric

You would need some kind of router that connects to both and then add the route to the internal data/voice in the appropriate gateway. It would be nice to know what swithces are used and whether they have layer 3 or 2 capability. My ideal setup would be to use a layer 2 swich as a minimum and do vlan configuration and qos. That way the port on the phone could be used for data. You could then router on a stick between, still use the Linksys. You might also look into finding a inexpensive gateway that can vlan and route between, that way you could put a port on both and just add the route to the phones on the data gateway device.

It is always easier if you provide a more detailed list of equipment for us to provide guidence.
