Mitel 5000 incoming CID routing

Potential customer wants to be able to route calls to certain hunt group according to the incoming CID info...example...calls from 931-897-XXXX to be routed to hunt group A and calls from 931-444-XXXX are to ring hunt group B.

Does the Mitel 5000 have the capability to route calls according to incoming CID info?

I'm sure you can,
check under "System\Trunk-Related Information\Call Routing Tables"
Under the "Call Routing Key" you have a choice of either Trunk Number or Outside Party Number for each table.
If you set it to Outside Party Number you can then direct the call based on CLI.

Thanks! I've used the call routing table many times (not with outside party number, though) I wonder if this would work with loop start lines?

I would think if CLI is presented then it should work.

I defintely did inbound routing based on originating Area code via call routing tables using PRI's. Have not tried with POTS.

Yes you can route via CID on a POTS line. Be sure to include the pattens "-" and "+" in the call-routing table and route them to a destination. - is for no digits received and the + is for any digits received that do not match a programmed pattern. The - should always be your first pattern and the + should always be your last. Without these any unmatched digits will route to the primary attendant.

so after changing the call routing key, i can just add in the CID in the Pattern field of the call routing table? should it be all 10 digits?
