I have a new Mitel 5020 conference IP phone that I want to use on a Mitel 5000 v5.1 Unit. Is this phone compatable with the 5000 and what is the license classification for the 5020.
A 5020 is an old IP phone as far as I know. You can use the 5310 conference pod with the Mitel IP handsets. You will require the correct module for this though dependant on the phone type that you use it with. IP phones use Category D licenses. You will require one of these for the phone type that you use it with.
I don't believe the 5020 is compatible but I might be wrong.
I was hoping that the 5020 would work with the 5000 HX. I did try to do an install but it wasn't recognized using Class D license. I do see that there are other classes of IP phones that will work with the 5000 but I don't have any class a,b,or c License. I do have class D and have 15 Mitel 5330 phones installed. I have one license left and that is what I was trying to use. I guess I will get the correct module for a 5330 phone and use the 5310 on that unit.
