We have a system that keeps getting alarm 201. Mitel has told us that sometimes its a nusiance alarm but the customer is a large call center with a maxed out 5000 and would like to to be able to tell if there is a channel down or not.

I have worked with tech support in the past on issues such as this and swear i remember them getting and looking at the channels. I know the SMDR will tell us what channel had the issue but is there a way to see what channels are up, down or in use?

We have been told by TS that an upgrade will fix them but this customer is wary to upgrade as they are all former inter-tel employees and have a lot of custom scripts written for this version of software.

Mitel 5000HX
PEC-1
PS-1
Ver. 5.0.4.80

Thanks!!

I'm guessing you are using UVM and not EM; EM has a mode selector which allows real-time viewing of voice channels in a diagnostics mode. You can monitor UVM via AVDAPMON to watch VM traffic. This alarm indicates a VM channel failure. Usually the customer will report intermittent "dead-air" on internal VM calls or inbound AA calls, when the bad channel gets used. Any of that happening? The one site I had this issue on was also a call center with a maxed 5600 w/PS-1; we tried replacing the PS-1, but that did not fix it. Inter-Tel (pre-Mitel) ended up giving the customer an EM to resolve the issue.

the customer acctually went from EM to UVM because the EM is no longer supported. I really dont want to sit out there and monitor the AVDAP though. i was just hoping for some type of channel status commmand.

there havent been reports of dead air just freak outs when the alarm pops up.

we now have it set for logs to be sent to Mitel as soon as the alarm shows but we are looking if fhis is a compelling enough reason to upgrade the SW version or not.

just as an update Tech Support confirmed that theres not a way to do this.
