Mitel 5000 External Paging - Relay?

There is a relay on the back of the controller but acccording to my reading all it does is open doors.

Does the 5000 have any way of sending a contact closure when paging is activated to control a paging amp?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I haven't run across the need so far, for paging anyway. I have with Door entry systems, and I rely on external EQ to be triggered via DTMF (#). Any connectivity requiring DTMF (Door entry, page zone controllers) needs to be connected via a trunk port to pass DTMF. Are you connecting via the MIC input, and need a contact closure?

The customer want to connect paging to their in-house music system

As such, it would be easiest to send a contact closure to cut off the music before paging.

I have advised them that they require Voice Activated control.
