Trying to set this up, but don't understand the interpretation the system makes of the dialed digits.

To make sure I don't trip on something else I programmed, I defaulted the database. Now, if I put my extension in forced/toll long distance calls, I get asked for an account code if I dial LD, local, but not toll free numbers.

If I put my area code in the house area code column, I can dial local (XXX), but toll to that area code (1-XXX)also goes through. I've been going all through the ARS, and can't find anywhere the place that let the system know that 800, 888, etc are toll free, but 1900 is not. BTW, I have no CoS or restrictions of any kind on my phone. I've tried (before defaulting) to modify the ARS so that local would be my area code, local LD would be 800 numbers, and any 1-XXX not 800 be LD, but something doesn't work here.

I think the Euro and US systems may be quite different but could the confusion be caused by the N+, Z+, TN, TE etc in the Route Groups?

Possibly. Tried to be more specific in the dialed digits by putting in specific local and LD codes, but system seems to ignore them. I've done ARS/LCR in multiple platforms, and the 5000 is by far the most frustrating.

One thing to remember is the system routes from top down so as soon as it finds a matching Route Group it will route the call, so you need to make sure if you have a specific route and facility group you want a Dial string to follow it will need to be at the top of the Route Group list.

Cant make it work. I've tried all of the wild cards possible, tried with digits, it completely ignores it. BTW I knew about the top down. I've deleted/modified/re-created the toll field section, doesn't do a darn thing.

Why is there an ARS section if everything is hard coded somewhere and you can't do shit about it???????
