I've configured my network interface, trunk group and DDIs. However, none of my trunks are registering with the SIP trunk provider. I've created my network interface, SIP trunks and DDI numbers. I worked with my SIP trunk provider and performed a packet capture. We confirmed that we are seeing the same communications occur between the 470 and SIP trunk provider.

The 470 sends an Invite to the SIP Provider
The SIP Provider denies it.
The 470 sends a second Invite to the SIP Provider but the 470 isn't providing the necessary information the Provider is looking for.
Therefore, the Provider denies the connection.

According to the SIP trunk provider, this communication is normal and believes I do not have a certain field filled out in the 470 that contains the needed IP, username needed to register the trunks.

This is my first attempt at configuring a 470 and IP trunks. My terminology is rusty. I'd like to ask for any and all assistance please.

Hi Chrich
There is no "universal" SIP trunk setup - this will depends of your provider and his requirements...From your post don't understand if you are required to enter login details or not? And who is a provider?

zoo1, thank you for taking the time to respond to my thread.

Yes, I understand that there is no universal SIP set up but based on the feedback from the SIP trunk provider, he believes there is a field in the 470 that is not filled out.

Yes, I am required to enter login details in the 470 and I have done so.

The SIP Trunk provider is Cloudnet Group.

I will retrieve all SIP related fields from the 470 and add them to my next post. Hopefully that will shed additional light on what I've done.

Thanks

Hi Chrich
I attaching one of the working config with registration account - use as a template. Also, before any testing, your account has to be registered (green tick).
Then, be sure that you are sending correct CID to the provider (correct format - could be National or could be Internatonal format - this is very important...). Tell us how you go...

Thank you zoo1! I will use this information and give it a shot.

zoo1, was your SIP provider using a metaswitch?

sorry, no idea...it's impossible to get that kind of info from this provider...

Got it. Also, I've checked my settings and my account is still not registering. I'm continuing to work on this.

I failed to mention that I am not using a SBC or MBG. I have the 470 plugged into a DMZ switch. The DMZ is plugged into a Cisco Meraki firewall.

Can you post the trace from the M470 here. Maintenance Monitor - > Rolling Trace -> Start Individual Rolling Trace, check SIP on. Which release has the 470?.

And export the Provider from Mitel Routing. If you got a username from the provider don´t fill in SIP ID under account. For Presentation use systemclip, so there are build from the did plan.
