I install Nortel and Partner at most of my locations I have been asked to replace several small motel locations with up to 250 rooms. The Nortels do not seem to have the available ports for these locations and can support 2500 sets.

Mitel has been suggested to me for these applications. One of these sites has a SX50 for a 124 room site It says Generic Module on ite. Cusomter is telling me that it have to be rebooted about 10 times a day.

Any suggestions would be great. They are looking for AA and VM at all their sites Local Calling only.

Thanks!

3300 with ASU II MXe should handle it nicely with hospitality option

Thank you!

This client is on a tight budget. Should I look at trying to repair their existing system? How old is this XS50 style do you think?

Is the 3300 easy to program for this environment?

Thank you!

I think rebooting the system 10 times a day will cost more then a MXE in the end
It is a long term investment so a tight budget is not an argument ( yes i do not have to pay it)

It is up to you to convince the customer

From what I have seen so far Mitel seems to have the most compact cabinets with the most concentration of ports as i have seen in other systems so far.

Is the 3300 easy to learn on. I have never worked on Mitel. This is a simple install only AA no VM for this site 20 loop lines for the analog sets.

What do think the cost will be for this platform?

Thanks!

how about VoIP? Does this place have wiring for Internet access? If so , you don't need analog ports. It will be just one 2U box. You will have AA out of the box since every base set of software comes with 10 or so VM box licenses. From my experience digital PRI/T1 is more cost effective then loop CO trunks starting from 15 lines.
Regarding cost you need to talt to your local VAR. You can make a request on various VAR web sites and get multiple contacts.
BTW I don't know if you will consider it, but right now 3300 700/MX models are close to its end of life fase and will not be able to run the latest release of the system software. I would expect them to pop up on eBay for really good price.

This is a VERY low end old property. To give you an idea the owners make the residents buy their own 2500 sets because so many of them are stolen and destroyed.

This was a referral by the cable company and they can not deliver PRI or T1 so I can only get POTS from them.

No other services are available like internet etc. It is basic telephone service and that is it. Dial 9 for local calls only nothing else.

The SX50 was MD about 10 yesr ago. Parts are getting pretty hard to come by. Mitel 3300 MXe will support analog via ASU interface cards in the ASU come as ONS ports only or combination ONS/LS. The onboard analog ports support ona and ls as well. The embedded voicemail and hospitality options make it a very good platform for small motels.

Is the 3300 easy to learn and program for this enviroment? What is the interface, Set ot PC?

With cost being a factor, you should be looking towards the Mitel SX200 ICP.

Very good hospitality funtionality and good sales packages to keep costs down.

Programming via terminal or Telnet or Web
