Hi all,

We have a request to setup a Polycom Soundstation2W EX Wireless Conference phone in a few of our conference rooms - portability is the obvious need here.

From the specs - I see it is analog.
So if I hookup to one of our analog lines/PLIDs - shouldn't it work?
I see there is a base and 150' of roaming.

Anything I'm missing here?
Please let me know what you think.
Thx.

That model has a base unit that will stay somewhat stationary. Yes, just put the analog circuit on the base unit and you should be good.

Hi Paterson,

Thanks - the price is mighty expensive for one of these so I wanted to make sure.

Sorry to ask again or sound redundant but have you connected any Polycom's to a Mitel 3300 w/ an analog card?
Like I mentioned - we just want to make sure.
Thanks again.

Yes, I have connected polycoms to the Mitel 3300 on all the different sources of an analog signal. Analog board on a CX/CXi, MX, MXe, ASU, ASU II, 2K peripheral Bay with ONS card, 200 peripheral bay with ONS card... they all provide analog signal that meets industry standards that will work with the polycom.

Thaks Patterson - I appreciate the details!

We use a lot of Polycom VSX 1000 conference phones with 3300 controllers. Only positive feedback.

Having issues with Polycom IP 4000,6000,7000 models. The problem is definitely on Mitel side in software releases above 8 UR5

Hi Guys-

Good to know about the VSX 1000.
I thinnkj the boiss wants to stick with the wireless model though - see if we can get it to work correctly.

I have some more questions - I can ring the phone but it is not picking up yet?
I am charging it - but thought it would still answer.
Line status is IDLE. (ONS-Analog PLID)
Just like I setup all other analog phones here.

Any special settings in Change Attr Assign?
Any other forms where I may need to change values?

Appreciate any insight, thanks.

Can you get dial tone with a standard analog phone? If yes, then problem with the polycom, if no, then problem with the Mitel analog port.

I would suspect the issue to be with the Polycom. Did you try turning up the speaker volume? Some devices have a really low speaker volume that a noisy environment can overwhelm.

HI Paterson,

I thought I should really test with an analog phone but have not - agreed. <smile>

I turned up the volume on the polycom too.

No special settings in the forms, eh?

I am not back into the office until Mon.

I'll try testing w/ an analog phone and then posting back my results.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Guys-

Yep - a problem with a cable from the network closet to telco jack in users office.
They recently remodeled and that was the issue...

Thanks again.
