Hi all,
I have a customer with an old Mitel 3000 system. 2xCO modules and 3 CO lines.
After hours, they set one station to forward all calls to an external number (a technician's cell phone). The trunk-to-trunk forwarding typically works just fine. However, if they get two simultaneous calls, the trunk-to-trunk forwarding happens for the first caller only. The other caller is stuck in an indefinite hold (the caller hears hold music, meanwhile the all the Mitel stations ring indefinitely until someone picks up).
Of course this is happening because all three CO lines are busy (two simultaneous inbound calls, plus the trunk-to-trunk forwarding consuming the third line for the outbound call). My question is: Is there any way for the second inbound caller to "camp" on the station that is forwarding? What we would like to have happen is that the second caller will be on hold until the first trunk-to-trunk call is complete, then the second caller gets forwarded.
I'm happy to entertain other methods of accomplishing this. Upgrading the phone system, however, is not an option at this time.
Thanks in advance!
