Since I have not got an answer to my earlier request (23-06-2003) I put it here again, because I am sure that someone knows the answer.

How do I upgrade the SAM toolbox (3.6) with the MIT USS database ?? For the USS itself it is simple, but I cant find a description how to do it for the MIT tool.

Hi
Do you have ussrdbXXmit.mdb.
If you have this file it needs to be copied to your uss database directory within sam inorder for the mit to use it.

Where is the USS dataase directory within SAM?

I have copied the file ussrdb86mit.mdb to the directory ...\Service Assistant Manager\Common Data.
The problem which I still face is that when I have extracted the hardware from a system, the dropdown box for which LIM type and Magazine type is still empty. So I can't get a GUI of the boards in the magazine.

I still have not been able to solve my problem !!

Hi
You have to rename the ussrdb86mit.mdb to uss97.mdb
and copy it to sam common data directory.
Before you do this make a copy of the original uss97.mdb file in common data directory or rename it so it is not overwritten.

Hi

In order to fill in the info such as lim and mag type you have to set a location name for each lim.
Just click on the location box for each lim and fill in anything.
Now you will be able to fill in info for lim and mag type.
Now you should get a graphical view.
The "HELP" in MIT could be more helpfull.

I have copied the file ussrdb86mit.mdb to the SAM common directory and renamed it to: ussrdb97.mdb.
Unfortunately their is still something which I do wrong.
I have set a location as you indicated.
I still have problems filling in the Cabinet Type (as explained in the HELP). Clicking in the dropdown box still gives me no options to choose from.
Extracting the hardware is no problem. Only getting the graphical view does not work.

Where are the solotions from Duvel and Isinor?
Or is it only LME who tries to help (Thanks anyhow for your efforts !)
One day I hope to get it working.

Hi

The way I did it was as follows.
1. I create a customer in CDA.
2. I then create a site and fill in all the details.
3. I than run MIT and click on site and then refresh/online
4. If you want to refresh offline you need a file with the following prints in it CNLIP CNBIP CNPUP PCLOP SVEVP.
5. After this you should see number of lims in system and hardware.
I think you have alreeady got this far.
The problem is getting the cabinet type and magazine type filled in.
The help file should be better than it is.
1. Highlight the site name you should see the LIM in red and the magazines in red.
2. Left click the box under the location tab and it should give you the option to fill in a location name.
3. Everthing should still be in red.
4. Now left click the box under the cabinet type and it should offer the choice of consono / 90 /50 etc.
5. Everthing should now be in blue and the article number should appear.
6. Next highlight the LIM number and left click the box under name and you should be offered the LBP number.
Do this for all LIMs and magazines and you should see the graphical view.
Your prints from the system must be ok for all this to work.

Hi
Also I am using SAM 3.6 SP 2.
There are lots of bugs in MIT in other versions of SAM.

LME
YOU ARE GREAT !!! YOU SOLVED MY PROBLEM !!!
Thanks to your last explanation.
The mistake I made was as follows:
Your described in your explanation under (the second) point 2: Left click the box under the location tab.....

I always clicked on the location tab itself, instead of under the location tab, as your described.
The same applied for clicking under the cabinet type box.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE !!
