Hello,
I have a user account that is missing. When I look in the Visual Menu Builder she no longer exists. When I try and create a new account for her, it states that New User is already on file.
If I look into User Module Maintenance she exist.

How can I get this user back?
Where does the user database file exists?

Macola Progression 7.5 with PSQL2000i SP3 database.

In the screens directory. Syspass.btr is the file. I have never seen an error like this before, but why would you go to user module maintenance to see if a user exists?

Are you saying it does not exist under the groups or non-grouped users, but yet you see it in user module maintenance?

It is weird the user said she could not login to Macola this morning. It was trying to login to the old company we keep for historical year end, we have two companies setup. When I looked at the production company she was no longer listed in the production company, but did exist in the historical company. So I thought somebody deleted her. I was going to recreate the account, but when I do, I get the error message stated before.

Right she no longer shows up under gorups or non-grouped users in the production company, but if you go to user module maintenance she appears in the list of users to choose from.

I am wondering if I could restore a backup of the Syspass.btr? It does have a modified date of this morning.

There is also a Syspass2.btr with the same date\time stamp? Could this be backup.

I don't know what syspass2.btr is, but I have one too.

I would delete the user from all companies and try it again.

Also, do you have the .ddfs for the screens directory? I can send them to you if you don't have them.

With the DDFs, you could create an ODBC data source to attached to the files and manually take out anything still in there for this user.

I cannot post my email address here but if you email me from my website, I can send the DDFs if you are interested.

You should be able to synchronize security from the tools menu in the visual menu builders. Not the sychronize to SQL that is something entirely different

If the user was inadvertantly deleted, then the error you got may be because Macola is trying to create the non _SQL user that was not deleted with the original deletion of the user. You can delete the non _SQL user in enterprise manager and then recreate them in Macola.

I would also find out who has access to the System Maintenance and find out if they tried to delete the user.
Generally, users don't just get deleted without some sort of user intervention.

Did you try to remove the user from the module maintenance and then delete it from the non-group?

Also, if someone tried to delete the account from the backup company, that would also affect your live production company.
