Missing text and hyperlinks not working

Hi, i need help. I am an ex lotus notes administrator and i have been dumped with exchange 2000 sp1. very periodically a user will reply to a mail or write a mail and when they click send it doesnt have the text they have just written. this has happened to a few users including me so i cant keep telling them user error when i know it really is happening. Also one user cant click on hyperlinks, when they do it opens an IE but doesnt load the page or any other for that matter. Can anyone help.
