I have move a db on to another pc which has access running another db, i have had this working before but since moving it to another pc one of the access applications runs fine but any other is coming up with a error "couldn't find system.mdw, this file is required for startup"

Any ideas

Thanks for the replie, does every db need a system.mdw or is one enough. Not shure how this has happened so how should i stop from happening again.

Any db with restricted access for certains users needs a mdw, but yes, every access database has a original mdw called system.mdw that logs you has admin with access.... you can edit it, but by default it sould reach in a microsoft office folder.... (this is a big issue if you create a protection and you can reach it just by changing the mdw....)

There is no protection on the db, it is just a striaght db with antbody that uses it has access to everything, this will change when its finished, we did have a company out who added a remote db thats uses access for another application and when they had done this our db wont open on this machine.

Any ideas.
