Hi,
I have xp in my pc but I am missing Security Center from my control panel. I installed XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) but I still can't see it. How Can I install it?
Thanks in advance.
Are there any other missing icons from your Control Panel? Can you see it if you change your View to Classic?
Have you tried logging on as another User in case you have a profile problem?
Is the service for Security Center Started and Running on Automatic? Check for any failure in its Dependent Services by right-clicking the Security Center Service and accessing the Properties of it.
These sort of annoyances are often fixed by re-registering the Dll's involved with the Applet. What happens if you type WSCUI.CPL in the Start Run box?
Are there any clues in the Event Viewer?
Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).
Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.
Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

It is still worthwile to do the spyware scans that linney mentioned as well as a couple of antivirus scans; there might be a reason that it became disabled.
