I have Routing and Remote Access setup on my Windows 2000 Server and all of the sudden I get the error rrasmgmt.msc file is missing when I try and access it.

How can I recover this file, I can't find anywhere on the Microsoft website where I can download it ande I don't know how to retreive if from the installation disk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is in the i386 folder of your Windows 2000 disc; or i386 directory on your server. Search for rrasmgmt.ms_ then rename it once you put it back in winnt\system32

Thanks for the suggestion. I found the file and copied it to the system32 directory and renamed it to rrasmgmt.msc but when I try and open it I get the error "MMC can not open the selected file."

Does the file need to be extracted or something?

I found the problem, the file did need to be extracted using expand.

expand D:\I386\rrasmgmt.ms_ C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\rrasmgmt.msc

Have you tried opening an MMC and then adding that Snap in?

Have you rebooted since?

Worst Case, you will need to boot in to recovery console and restore that file manually from CD.
